Dance sides programme.

The dance sides are the most colourful part of the Swanage Folk Festival and can be seen in many locations around town, but mainly performing on the sea front.

There are many forms of Morris Dances and the styles vary from different parts of Britain. The basis for most dances is rhythmic stepping and the execution of choreographed figures performed by groups of dancers usually wielding handkerchiefs, sticks, swords, mollies, and or garlands.

The Festival also encompasses traditional folk dancers from Bulgaria, Slovak, Czech, Middle East, England and Ireland.

Click on any Morris Side for more information about them.
